I am very liery about loging into my account within your site since I don't know if you are tracking key strokes. Can I just get the promo code and manually type it in. Tax returns are very private and I don't want anyone to have this kind of access.

I had already started my taxes on CompleteTax website and when it got to the part where I pay for the service I noticed a referral code which made me think to search online for a code. I found this coupon along with several other sites. When I clicked on it, it appeared to show me a discount but when I went to pay it showed the regular price again. Not sure if that's because I already went through the process and didn't start from the beginning? Really confused why it's not allowing me to use the discount?

The Complete Tax referral code should be activated after you click "Get Coupon". Have you tried clicking the Start Now button in the window that opens with the Complete Tax website and then logging in? Maybe logout first and then proceed. Let me know if that works.
