It’s easy to get an environmentally friendly car rental!

In step 2 of the reservation process, you’ll have the opportunity to choose a Budget Car Rental Green Machine designated by an EPA SmartWay leaf icon. Choices include the Hyundai Accent, Ford Focus, Pontiac G6, Ford Fusion, Ford Taurus, Nissan Altima, Ford Escape, Toyota Prius and many other highly rated Budget Green Machines. Car Rental Tip: Also in the reservation process, My Choice indicates Budget's Street Fleet car rentals. At select locations, hybrid cars can be specifically reserved by make and model.

100% of Budget car rentals in economy, compact, intermediate and standard car classes and the majority of full-size cars have met stringent U.S. EPA guidelines and are SmartWay Certified. Each rental car receives an Air Pollution Score and a Greenhouse Gas Score, on a scale of 1-10. For the SmartWay designation, a rental car must receive a 6 or better on both scores, and have a total score of at least 13.
